I have to admit that before I used to try to avoid cooking with chicken breast but that was until I succeeded in cooking tender chicken breast. & now I really love it! There are many ways that I cook with it, one of the favorites being the Chicken in Mushroom Sauce. I love the creaminess in that recipe.
But this time I wanted to maintain the creaminess & add something different. Why not zest?! It might seem a bit odd but in reality it’s just delicious. We loved it! On top of that, it takes a few simple steps to cook it.

Creamy & Zesty Chicken
The best of both worlds, creamy & zesty complimented with a very tender chicken breast.
Ingredients
- 1 kg chicken breast
- Salt & pepper
- 2½ tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 130 g courgette sliced
- 1 tbsp parsley diced
- 1½ tbsp chicken seasoning
- 120 g yellow onion sliced
- 195 g mushrooms halved
- 200 g green beans
- 40 g lemon sliced
- 350 g besciamel sauce
- 300 ml white wine
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat the oil in a frying pan.
- Season the chicken breast with salt, pepper, garlic powder, smoked paprika & chicken seasoning. Cook the chicken for 4 minutes on each side over medium to high heat.
- Add the onions, mushrooms, green beans, courgettes, lemon & white wine to the pan. Bring to a boil & then let simmer for 25 minutes.
- Add the besciamel sauce & let cook for 10 minutes.
